I've learned from personal experience that the quickest path to not feeling your best is taking care of those around you and not taking care of yourself.
Since health and nutrition looks different on everybody, I've made it my mission to help as many people as possible put themselves first by creating a personalized health routine that fits into their lifestyle.
When you feel happy, healthy, and whole, you can show up for those you love in a meaningful way while honoring your own needs, goals, and dreams. What is more important than that?
I was born in Toronto but grew up in sunny Los Angeles. I earned a Bachelor of Architecture from The Southern California Institute of Architecture and worked for 20 years as an architect and interior designer before making the leap into Nutrition Coaching. As a mom of two I spent my free time learning as much as I could about food and nutrition. I attended culinary school in the evenings, created a plant based cooking blog, became a NASM certified nutrition coach, and have taken a culinary coaching course at Harvard Medical School.
In my time spent as both an architect and a nutrition coach I discovered that there are a lot of similarities between these two professions. They both center around improving the quality of peoples lives by making new space for a more thoughtful existence. Both architecture and nutrition coaching ask clients to imagine and get curious about what 'could be'. Most importantly, they both require you build a strong foundation so that the end result will stand the test of time.
I grew up spending hours in the back of my Grandfather Louis' bagel store. Yes, I love carbs.
I got my first pull-up at the age of 44 after a full year of working towards it. It changed my life forever.
I met my husband 25 years ago in Los Angeles even though we grew up three blocks away from each other in Toronto.
I became vegetarian at age 8 after trying a veggie burger for the first time. I became vegan 15 years ago after a Veganuary challenge. I am vegan for the animals, not because I believe it is the only path to a healthy diet.
